Absorption In Wetted Wall Column Apparatus

 

Technical Description:

 The set up consists of a glass column. Alkaline liquid is fed at the top of the column along the walls to create a laminar liquid flow along the walls of a wetted wall column. Flow rates of Air and Co2, are measured separately, mixed in a mixing chamber and then passed through the column vertically upward and absorbed in liquid film around the wall. All the flow rates can be independently varied to simulate different conditions. Liquid Sample can be taken out from the sampling point at the bottom of the column for analysis.

Double Effect Evaporator

Technical Description:

Evaporation deals with the concentration of a non-volatile solute from a solution by the removal of required amount of volatile solvent. Usually the solvent is water. By vaporizing apart of the solvent, use ful product i.e. the concentrated solution or thick liquor is produced and the vapour is discarded. Long tube evaporators are usually used for the concentration of foamy liquids. The set-up is consist soft evaporators fitted in series. Each is made up of Stainless Steel tubes surrounded by a Stainless Steel jacket and fitted with accumulator. Dilute solution is feed to the first evaporator. Steam from a steam generator is supplied to evaporator to concentrate the dilute feed solution to a desired level. The jacket is fitted with a steam trap and the condensate is collected attheend of trap. The vapour so volatile solvent produced in first evaporator are supplied to the second evaporator. The vapours of volatile solvent are condensed in a shell & tube type condenser and the balance non-volatile solute collected in the accumulator is recycled through the evaporator.

Packed Bed Distillation Column Apparatus

Technical Description:
  •  The column is made of Stainless Steel material packed with Borosilicate Glass rasching rings. An electrically heated re-boiler is installed at the bottom of the column. The bottom product is collected in the tank. The vapours form the top of column are condensed in the shell and tube type condenser by circulating cooling water, supplied by laboratory overhead tank. The condensate is divided into reflux and distillate by automatic reflux divider and R/D Ratio can be varied. Reflux is fed back to the column and distillate is received in a receiving tank. Technical Description:

Evaporation is a process for concentrating a solution by vaporizing part or all of the solvent. In most of the cases the solvent is water. The Pan Evaporator set-up is designed to study the fundamentals of evaporation process. The set-up consists of a jacketed pan evaporator made of stainless steel and an electrically heated steam generator of suitable capacity.To evaporate the solution in pan, steam is allowed to enter in the jacket using a control valve. Condensate is collected from steam trap for energy measurement. Tilting is done by a worm gear arrangement to empty the pan.

Steam Distillation Set Up

Technical Description:

 The column is made of Stainless Steel with seven plates for mounting the bubble caps. Each plate is provided with one bubble cap. An electrically heated reboiler is installed at the bottom of the column. The bottom product is collected in the tank. Vapor In Air Diffusion Apparatus

 

Technical Description:

Using a small sample of the liquid in a narrow vertical tube, and observing its rate of evaporation into stream of air passed across the top of the tube can conveniently be used to study the diffusion of vapour of a volatile liquid into air. The set up consists of a glass tube placed in a water bath. A horizontal glass tube is fixed to the upper end of the tube and air is drawn through this by a small air pump included within the unit.
